Dewey's Chase Carver recorded the longest rushing play in 3A District 5 this season in his game against Locust Grove last week. Carver's team fell to the Pirates as he sprinted for 64 yards on the play and finished with 151 in all.
Metro Christian added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Sperry, 46-0. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Patriots.
Carver provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Dewey lost to Locust Grove. He completed 10 passes for 166 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 151 yards. Carver's key target this week was Hunter Brewer, who caught 4 passes for 72 yards.
TY WALKER threw for 196 yards and 5 touchdowns. He was 14-17 with 0 interceptions.
Jared Fink was the best running back in the league this week. In 30 carries, he ran for 170 yards as Chris Revard's team fell to Matt Hennessey's team.
Leading 3A District 5 in both passing and receiving yards, Berryhill's WALKER and BRAYDEN BRADSHAW have proven to be a lethal combination. WALKER has thrown for 1,064 yards this season, while BRADSHAW has 28 catches for 322 yards. Fink from the Bulldoggers leads the league in rushing with 1,123 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Metro Christian takes on Sequoyah. Jared Mccoy's team is in first place, while the Eagles are in third place.
Verdigris fell to Sequoyah 62-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
