Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in high school girls basketball. The tradition continues to close out the 2024-25 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.
Dee Alexander of
Purcell Marian (Cincinnati) is the 2024-25 Ohio MaxPreps Player of the Year. A three-time winner of the state's highest honor, the 6-foot-1 senior guard led the Cavaliers to a 23-6 record and their fourth straight Division III state championship.
For the season, Alexander averaged 20.5 points, 8.1 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 2.3 steals per game. In a 72-44 win over Avon Lake in the title game, she produced 27 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists.

247Sports, Alexander signed with Cincinnati in November. She will participate in the McDonald's All American Game next month.
Each state's MaxPreps Player of the Year will be considered for inclusion in the MaxPreps All-America Team, which is scheduled to be released in April.
