The Churchill County Greenwave pushed their score all the way to 55 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 67-55 to Aragon. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Churchill County came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 56th in Nevada, while Aragon is ranked 521st in California).
Several Greenwave players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brady Alves, who scored 13 points along with five steals. Another player making a difference was Trevor Hyde, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Churchill County and nudges their season record down to 7-5. As for Aragon, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
