Basketball Recap: North Takes a Loss

North lost against Kenston back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The North Rangers fell to the Kenston Bombers 46-41. The Rangers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why North lost, don't look at Kaitlin Dobida. Despite the final result, she posted 11 points and six boards. Dobida is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last three games she's played. Alex Hamilton was another key player, putting up seven points.

Kenston was led to victory by Morgan Cicek and Mariela Macias. Cicek went 7 of 16 en route to 17 points and eight rebounds, while Macias went 5 for 9 on her way to 10 points and six assists. That makes it five consecutive games in which Cicek has scored at least a third of Kenston's points. Another player making a difference was Aurora Young, who scored four points.

North's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Kenston, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.

North didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 43-35 loss against Chardon on the 8th. As for Kenston, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 41-32 victory against Riverside on the 8th.
