Softball Recap: Gilman Has No Trouble Against Owen-Withee

After only two runs in their last game, Gilman made sure to put some runs up on the board against Owen-Withee on Thursday. The Pirates put the hurt on the Blackhawks with a sharp 19-2 win. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Gilman has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Owen-Withee, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Coming up, Gilman will face off against Rib Lake at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Redmen will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight. As for Owen-Withee, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 13-1 loss against Spencer on the 16th.
