Steward is 6-1 against Christchurch School since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Steward Spartans will be home for the holidays to greet the Christchurch School Seahorses at 5:30 p.m. Steward will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
On Friday, Steward got the win against Banner Christian by a conclusive 73-50. That 73-50 margin sets a new team best for Steward this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Steward to victory, but perhaps none more so than Xavier Nelson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds. Those 14 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Vaughn, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Christchurch School didn't have too much trouble with Northumberland on the road on Thursday as they won 61-46. The win made it back-to-back wins for Christchurch School.
Steward's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Christchurch School, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Everything came up roses for Steward against Christchurch School in their previous meeting back in February as the team secured a 87-55 win. Will Steward repeat their success, or does Christchurch School have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
