The Canton Golden Bears waltzed into their matchup Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They snuck past Potsdam with a 47-42 win. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Canton has scored all year.
Despite the loss, Potsdam had strong showings from Ian VanWagner, who scored 23 points along with four steals, and Brodie Delaney, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. VanWagner scored a full 54.8% of Potsdam's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Canton's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Potsdam, their loss dropped their record down to 5-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Canton will challenge Stillwater at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Stillwater has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 306 points over their last four games. As for Potsdam, they will head out on the road to face off against Heuvelton Central at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Heuvelton Central is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
