The Tucumcari Rattlers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 53-43 to Jal.
When it comes to explaining why Tucumcari lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kamren Apodaca. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and seven blocks. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Rincones, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Tucumcari's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Jal, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
Tucumcari won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Tatum at 9:00 a.m. on December 16th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Mexico (Tatum is ranked 127th, while Tucumcari is ranked 125th). Jal won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Newcomb at 12:30 p.m. on December 16th. Newcomb is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
