Baseball Recap: Community Academy of Philadelphia Falls to Academy of the New Church in First Game of Season

Community Academy of Philadelphia had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against the Academy of the New Church Lions on Thursday, falling 17-6.

Anthony Mulero made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Isaac Adorno, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

Academy of the New Church's victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Community Academy of Philadelphia and Academy of the New Church will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. Community Academy of Philadelphia is set to take on their familiar foe New Foundations at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Academy of the New Church will challenge rival Friends Select at 4:00 p.m. on April 4.
