The River Valley Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight defeat. They were the victim of a rough 71-50 loss at the hands of Woodcreek. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for River Valley in their matchups with Woodcreek: they've now lost six in a row.
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jackson McPeak, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tayvione Brown, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
River Valley used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Woodcreek. And. Armaan Kandola made the most of the opportunity, scoring two points along with five rebounds. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
Woodcreek was led to victory by Joey Nielsen and Max VanLaningham. Nielsen scored 11 points along with five steals, while VanLaningham scored 13 points along with five blocks and two steals. VanLaningham has been hot recently, having posted five or more blocks the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Aidan Triplet, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.
River Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 14 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-20 record this season. As for Woodcreek, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-6.
