After two games on the road, Rincon/University is heading back home. They will take on The Douglas Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Rincon/University fell victim to Sahuarita's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were the victim of a tough 21-0 defeat at the hands of the Mustangs.
Meanwhile, Douglas' game two weeks ago was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They took down Rio Rico 21-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Douglas.
Ivan Higuera continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 221 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Higuera was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 61 yards. Jason Hurtado was another key contributor, rushing for 147 yards and a touchdown.
Rincon/University's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 7.3 points per game. As for Douglas, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season.
