Baseball Recap: Pine Lake Prep Makes It Six in a Row on the Road

Pine Lake Prep won the last time they faced Union Academy and things went their way on Monday too. Pine Lake Prep walked away with a 6-1 victory over Union Academy. That's two games straight that the Pride have won by exactly five runs.

Pine Lake Prep saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alec Brown, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 4-for-4. Those three runs gave Brown a new career-high. Grant Ingram was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Pine Lake Prep's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Union Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pine Lake Prep will face off against Lincoln Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pine Lake Prep's pitchers better be ready for this one: Lincoln Charter has averaged an impressive 12.2 runs per game this season.
