Jackson is 0-3 against the Pioneers since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Jackson Generals will head out on the road to challenge the North Miami Pioneers at 5:00 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Jackson has struggled recently with five losses in a row, while the Pioneers will arrive with four straight wins.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 48-13, which was the final score in Jackson's tilt against the Sharks on Friday.
Meanwhile, North Miami put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 54-30 margin over South Dade. North Miami pushed the score to 43-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Buccaneers had little chance of recovering from.
It was another big night for Jadore Hayes, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 30 rebounds. Hayes is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least 12 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Donnesha Morencey, who dropped a double-double on 15 rebounds and ten assists.
Jackson dropped their record down to 4-8 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.3 points per game. As for North Miami, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season.
Jackson was dealt a bruising 61-10 defeat at the hands of the Pioneers in their previous meeting back in November of 2019. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Jackson was down 47-4.
