The Parker Braves will head out to challenge the Stanton Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Parker is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
Parker fell victim to Englewood and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Rams, falling 16-0. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Braves' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Parker saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Courtni Thomas, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Thomas hit this season.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last matchup, Stanton made sure to put some runs up on the board against Raines on Thursday. Everything went Stanton's way against Raines as Stanton made off with a 21-12 win. The Blue Devils' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Leah Joseph made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up nine earned (and three unearned) runs off 15 hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in all six of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Stanton got a massive performance out of Zariah Harvey, who scored five runs while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances. Emmalyn Gensch was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while going 3-for-6.
Parker's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Stanton, their record is now 3-1.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Parker has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .590. However, it's not like Stanton struggles in that department as they've averaged .748. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Parker suffered a grim 24-8 defeat to Stanton in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Parker avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
