AAAA Region 7B recap October 1, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in AAAA Region 7B this week, Northwest Whitfield beat River Ridge 54-14. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Northwest Whitfield took down the Knights 54-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Dalton's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jase Chastain threw for 107 yards and Kelvis Rhodes had 79 yards receiving. On the ground Rhodes contributed 124 yards.
The Catamounts' dynamic duo of Chastain and Rhodes proved tough for Cass to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Heritage's Dylan Bice and Christian King led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Bice has thrown for 309 yards this season, while King, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 12 catches for 265 yards. Rhodes from Dalton leads the league in rushing with 295 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Matt Land's team takes on Ridgeland. As it stands, the Catamounts are in third, while the Panthers are in fourth.
