South Central is 1-9 against Western Reserve since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The South Central Trojans will be home for the holidays to greet the Western Reserve Roughriders at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 76-28, which was the final score in South Central's tilt against Crestview on Friday. South Central has not had much luck with Crestview recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, South Central had strong showings from Bryan Chaffee, who scored 8 points, and Trey Knoll, who scored 10 points. Chaffee scored a full 28.6% of South Central's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Gunner Ray was another key contributor, scoring 2 points along with 6 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Western Reserve lost to Keystone on the road by a decisive 55-39 margin on Saturday.
Their wins bumped South Central to 1-1 and Crestview to 4-0.
South Central couldn't quite finish off Western Reserve in their previous meeting back in January and fell 46-43. Can South Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
