Lake Cormorant's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight defeat. They fell 60-53 to Grenada. Lake Cormorant was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Grenada got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Carlei Brown out in front who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Brown is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lauren Harges, who scored 14 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Lake Cormorant dropped their record down to 8-10 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Grenada, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-6.
Lake Cormorant will be playing at home against the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Center Hill presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the in Mississippi (the Mustangs are ranked 24th, while the are ranked 147th). As for Grenada, they will head out on the road to take on the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
