The Desert Pines Jaguars fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Las Vegas Wildcats on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Wildcats 64-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Tayshaun Jackson was his usual excellent self, scoring 29 points along with five assists for Las Vegas. That makes it four consecutive games in which Jackson has scored at least a third of Las Vegas' points. Bryce Davis was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Desert Pines has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Las Vegas, their victory bumped their record up to 11-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Desert Pines will square off against the Trailblazers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 12 consecutive losses for Durango and three for the Jaguars. As for Las Vegas, they will head out on the road to square off against the Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Wildcats in Nevada (the Patriots are ranked second, while the Wildcats are ranked 33rd).
