After a string of three wins, the Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Knights's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Marshall on the road and fell 58-31. Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond still got an impressive performance from Sara Herschberger, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Sophie Monts, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond's defeat dropped their record down to 16-11. As for Marshall, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-20 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond will take on the Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 last Monday. As for Marshall, they will be playing at home against the Maroons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
