After flying high against the NorthPoint Christian Academy NightHawks last Monday, the Lab University Prep Regional Lab Rats came back down to earth. Lab University Prep Regional took a 61-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Gospel Light Christian on Tuesday.
Several Lab Rats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jalen Dancy, who scored 14 points. Christian Jones was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Samuel Sisk continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Gospel Light Christian, scoring 21 points along with six assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Sisk has scored at least a third of Gospel Light Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Drake Walker, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Lab University Prep Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Gospel Light Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.
Lab University Prep Regional won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Varsity Opponent at 5:30 p.m. on February 7th. Varsity Opponent is coming into the contest with six straight defeats on the road, meaning Lab University Prep Regional will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Gospel Light Christian, they will be playing at home against Surry HomeSchool at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Gospel Light Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Tuesday.
