Rainier had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They captured a comfortable 27-10 win over Raymond. That result is just more of the same for Rainier, who also won the last time these teams played.
Raymond's loss came about despite a quality game from junior Mccartney Maden, who rushed for 94 yards and 1 touchdown. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse senior Patrick Edwards, who racked up 10 tackles. This was the first game for both teams, giving Rainier a 1-0 record and starting Raymond off at 0-1.
Rainier will be defending their home turf for the first time next week when they go up against Toledo at Rainier High School at 7:00 PM. Raymond are packing up and heading on the road for the first time this season. They face off against Morton/White Pass next week at at Randle at 7:00 PM.
