After flying high against Beddingfield last Friday, Hunt came back down to earth. The Hunt Warriors took a 27-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of the D.H. Conley Vikings on Friday. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.
Although Hunt took the loss, they still got scores from Ny'Gir Alston and Tylee Jones.
Hunt's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of Randy James and Keyshawn Richardson. Richardson also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making 13 total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending two passes in addition to snagging an interception. Hunt got some further help from Jayden Warren: he made 15 total tackles and defended a pass.
Crisean Williams had a dynamite game for D.H. Conley, rushing for 150 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Elijah Taft, who gained 110 total yards and a touchdown.
Hunt now has a losing record at 1-2. As for D.H. Conley, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hunt will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on C.B. Aycock at 7:00 p.m. on September 20th. C.B. Aycock knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 point or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Hunt likes a good challenge. As for D.H. Conley, they will take on Northern Nash at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northern Nash will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something D.H. Conley surely won't give up without a fight.
