After a string of three wins, the Covenant Christian Cougars's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 41-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Grace Prep. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Covenant Christian has scored all season.
Aaron Turner and Lucas Wallace certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Turner scored nine points along with four steals, while Wallace scored eight points along with three steals.
Covenant Christian's loss dropped their record down to 20-6. As for Grace Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-9 record this season.
Covenant Christian will head out on the road to face off against Pantego Christian at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Covenant Christian is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Pantego Christian in Texas (Covenant Christian is ranked 160th, while Pantego Christian is ranked 723rd). As for Grace Prep, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lake Country Christian at 7:30 p.m. Grace Prep is coming into the contest with three straight victories at home, so Lake Country Christian is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
