The Lima Senior Spartans entered their tilt with the Southview Cougars with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Lima Senior took down Southview 47-32 on Saturday. Winning is a bit easier when your three-point shooting is a whole 21% better than the opposition, as Lima Senior's was.
Lima Senior's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Maisie Strawser, who scored 16 points along with five steals. Strawser continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Angie Kohlhofer was another key contributor, scoring six points along with ten rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Southview had strong showings from Lacie Filas, who scored 16 points along with five steals, and Mikayla Dorn, who scored eight points along with five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Filas scored 15 or more points.
Even though they lost, Southview smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Lima Senior's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Southview, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.
Coincidentally, Lima Senior and Southview will both be playing Scott the next time they take the court. Southview will host Scott at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Lima Senior will host them at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
