Tamalpais is 0-10 against Branson since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Tamalpais Red Tailed Hawks' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Branson Bulls at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. Tamalpais knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Branson likes a good challenge.
Last Saturday, Tamalpais strolled past San Rafael with points to spare, taking the game 62-43. Given Tamalpais' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while San Rafael is ranked 713th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Branson's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of St. Joseph by a score of 69-66. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Tamalpais pushed their record up to 11-4 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.4 points per game. As for Branson, their loss dropped their record down to 13-6.
Tamalpais was dealt a bruising 67-39 loss at the hands of Branson in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can Tamalpais avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
