Emily Kahana was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Houchin, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Legacy Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .800. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Immanuel Christian made easy work of Rosamond on Monday and carried off a 23-5 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Crusaders.
Abigail Barham made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one double.
In other batting news, Ava Blakie and Chloe Loughlin did most of the damage at the plate: Blakie went 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI, while Loughlin went 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and four RBI. Charlotte Cabrera was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Immanuel Christian pushed their record up to 17-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Legacy Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.
Both Legacy Christian Academy and Immanuel Christian just can't seem to miss. The Lions have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 14.2 hits per game. However, it's not like Immanuel Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Legacy Christian Academy suffered a grim 23-1 defeat to Immanuel Christian in their previous matchup back in March. Will the Lions have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
