Harrisburg Christian lost to the Newport Buffaloes back in January of 2023, but Harrisburg Christian didn't allow the Newport Buffaloes the same satisfaction on Saturday. Harrisburg Christian managed a 41-37 win over Newport. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Harrisburg Christian.
Harrisburg Christian was led to victory by Cooper Gesswein and Eli Stargel. Gesswein scored 14 points along with two blocks, while Stargel scored eight points along with four steals. Stargel hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Evan Sunday, who scored six points along with two steals.
The victory got Harrisburg Christian back to even at 7-7. As for Newport, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harrisburg Christian will take on Varsity Opponent at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Newport, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against East Juniata at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully East Juniata focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Saturday.
