Tullahoma hasn't had much luck against Siegel recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Wildcats will welcome the Stars at 6:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Tullahoma sitting on eight straight wins and Siegel on five.
Tullahoma took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Lawrence County, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Tullahoma sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 victory over Lawrence County on Thursday.
Madison Goad was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylee Holt, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Siegel narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Harbor Creek 2-1. That's two games straight that the Stars have won by just one run.
Addison Parrott spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on seven hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Siegel let Auburn Karls and Olivia Haile run wild. Karls got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one double and one RBI, while Haile went 1-for-3 with one home run. Haile also put up a run, which was her first of the season.
Tullahoma's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Siegel, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4-1.
Siegel's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Tullahoma has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .453. It's a different story for Siegel, though, as they've only averaged .363. Will they be able to contain Tullahoma's hitters?
