Softball Recap: Davidson Wins Going Away Against Vigor

Davidson got themselves on the board against Vigor on Tuesday, but Vigor never followed suit. They blew past the Wolves 15-0. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by 12 runs or more this season.

Sophia Edmonson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Mar'Kayla Scott was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with six stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was JaLeah Nelson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Davidson has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Vigor, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Davidson will face off against LeFlore at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Vigor, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Accel Academy at 4:30 p.m.
