The Pinecrest Prep Crocs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight defeat. They took a 63-45 bruising from BridgePrep Village Green. Pinecrest Prep has struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as their match on Monday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Pinecrest Prep saw an underclassman step up: Gabriel Guzman scored 27 points. That was a full 60% of Pinecrest Prep's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Castellon, who scored ten points.
Pinecrest Prep's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-10. As for BridgePrep Village Green, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
Pinecrest Prep will take on the Dragons at TBD on Saturday. As for BridgePrep Village Green, they will head out on the road to challenge the Hurricanes at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Somerset Academy South Homestead knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully the Bulldogs likes a good challenge.
