In what's become a running theme this season, the Fernley Vaqueros gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 77-23 victory over Churchill County at home. Fernley's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fernley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaiserita Otuafi, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Taylor Tollestrup, who scored 14 points along with three blocks.
The win (which was Fernley's fifth in a row) raised their record to 20-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points per game. As for Churchill County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-5.
Fernley the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Lowry at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Lowry has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 214 points over their last three contests. As for Churchill County, they will head out on the road to take on Dayton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Dayton is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
