The Lithia Springs Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Midtown, falling 73-30. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lithia Springs has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Lithia Springs still got an impressive performance from Amaya Richmond, who scored 20 points. Richmond scored a full 66.7% of Lithia Springs' points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Parris Hawkins, who scored six points.
Midtown found their leader in underclassman Hailey Wortmann, who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds. The contest was Wortmann's third in a row with at least ten points. Briaiah Lewis was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven assists.
Lithia Springs' loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Midtown, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Lithia Springs will head out on the road to face off against Wheeler at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Midtown and Thomson will face off at 3:00 p.m. on December 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
