Basketball Game Preview: Ascent Classical Academy Guardians vs. Two Roads Charter School Falcons

Ascent Classical Academy has gone 3-0 against Two Roads Charter School recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Ascent Classical Academy Guardians will square off against the Two Roads Charter School Falcons at 5:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Wednesday.

Ascent Classical Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Monument Academy 65-23. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Guardians considering their 29-point performance the matchup before.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ascent Classical Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jack Colberg, who posted ten points along with six steals and five rebounds. With that strong performance, Colberg is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Vann Rogers, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 15 points and five steals.

Ascent Classical Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Two Roads Charter School played in conference for the first time on Monday and they got just the result they we're looking for. They breezed by Poudre Community Academy to the tune of 59-24. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 24 points or more this season.

Ascent Classical Academy better focus on containing Weston Berhow and Kevyn Feldon as the pair were huge in Two Roads Charter School's win. Berhow earned 18 points and seven boards, while Feldon dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Hunter Liebsock was another key player, putting up nine points.

Ascent Classical Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-8. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for Two Roads Charter School, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.
