It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Mercy had no problem doing just that on Thursday. Everything went their way against the North Bullitt Eagles as they made off with an 11-2 win. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.
Olivia Colebank spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Mercy got a massive performance out of Ava Reinhart, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs Reinhart has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Allie Streble, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Mercy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Bullitt only posted a batting average of .222.
Mercy has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-13 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for North Bullitt, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-12 record.
As of now, neither Mercy nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
