Basketball Game Preview: Cornerstone Charter Cardinals vs. College Prep & Leadership Academy Royals

Cornerstone Charter is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with a 71-63 win over Phoenix Academy on Tuesday.

Cornerstone Charter's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Charles Walker, who went 7 for 16 en route to 20 points along with eight rebounds and five blocks. Walker is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Spencer Knight was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 20 boards.

Cornerstone Charter smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in eight consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, College Prep & Leadership Academy took their match on Thursday with ease, bagging a 77-48 win over Leadership Academy. The Royals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 21 points or more this season.

Cornerstone Charter has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for College Prep & Leadership Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 17-4.

Cornerstone Charter was dealt a bruising 73-32 defeat at the hands of College Prep & Leadership Academy in their previous meeting back in January. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Cornerstone Charter was down 35-13.
