It was a good run, but the Rockwell Christian School Chargers unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell to Asheboro Hybrid Academy 31-25. Rockwell Christian School was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Asheboro Hybrid Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
Despite the loss, Rockwell Christian School saw an underclassman step up: Cambrie Perry scored 12 points.
Asheboro Hybrid Academy can attribute much of their success to Emily West, who scored 15 points.
Rockwell Christian School's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-9. As for Asheboro Hybrid Academy, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-10.
Rockwell Christian School's road trip will continue as they head out to face Southview Christian at 4:00 p.m. on February 6th. Southview Christian is coming into the matchup with five straight defeats at home, meaning Rockwell Christian School will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. As for Asheboro Hybrid Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Sheets Memorial Christian at 3:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Hopefully Sheets Memorial Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Thursday.
