The High Point Academy Grizzlies waltzed into their matchup on Friday with five straight wins but they left with six. They took down Brashier Middle College Charter 70-51. 70 seems to be a good number for High Point Academy as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Leading High Point Academy to victory were DeAnthony Ross and J'Sean Sanders. Ross scored 19 points along with six rebounds, while Sanders scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Mike Mallory was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five assists.
Several Bengal players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ridge Bryson, who scored 14 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Emerson Smith, who scored 12 points.
High Point Academy pushed their record up to 12-7 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Brashier Middle College Charter, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. High Point Academy's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Christ Church Episcopal at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. Brashier Middle College Charter will take on St. Joseph's Catholic at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
