The Faith Christian Lions were the 64-59 winner over the Wadley Bulldogs when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Faith Christian opened the new year with a less-than-successful 61-55 defeat to they on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Wadley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Demon Spraddling, who scored 15 points. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Frisco Robertson, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and five blocks.
Faith Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Wadley, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Faith Christian is on the road again on Thursday and play against Westbrook Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 4th. Westbrook Christian is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games. As for Wadley, they will head out on the road to face off against Randolph County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Randolph County is ranked 397th, while Wadley is ranked 373rd).
