Lutheran proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 20) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the San Marcos Academy Bears. The victory was familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have now won six matchups in a row.
Keegan Stinson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
