Make it nine blowout wins for the Chesterfield Golden Rams this season. They blew past North Central 51-14 on the road on Wednesday. Given Chesterfield's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Knights are ranked 275th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Chesterfield to victory were Terrahjah Robinson and Kierra Diggs. Robinson scored 15 points along with six rebounds and four steals, while Diggs scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Diggs hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaeda Johnson, who scored four points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Chesterfield is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for North Central, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chesterfield will take on the Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Buford has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while the Golden Rams will arrive with four straight victories. As for North Central, they will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Central is on a six-game streak of home losses, the Knights a 14-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change.
