After two games on the road, New Hope Christian Academy is heading back home. They will take on the Liberty Union Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Saturday, New Hope Christian Academy strolled past Green with points to spare, taking the game 75-61. The victory was just what New Hope Christian Academy needed coming off of a 81-57 defeat in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Liberty Union was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 66-60 to Teays Valley. Liberty Union has not had much luck with Teays Valley recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite their loss, Liberty Union saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Luke Williams, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Tomas Winter, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds.
New Hope Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Liberty Union, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
New Hope Christian Academy came up short against Liberty Union in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 59-50. Thankfully for New Hope Christian Academy, Jaden Smith (who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
