The Hamilton Wildcats suffered their closest loss since November 22, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of Ridgeway by a score of 71-68. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (60), Hamilton still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why Hamilton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Devan McGee. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 35 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McGee has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Rodney Mcneal, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Brian Carter, Jr. continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Ridgeway, scoring 19 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Carter, Jr. is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Joshua Thornton was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with three steals.
Hamilton's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Ridgeway, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-5.
Hamilton the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Melrose at 7:30 p.m. on January 29th. Melrose is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Ridgeway, they will challenge Kirby at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kirby has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 381 points over their last six matchups.
