Wyatt Farney Turns in Season-Best Performance
Sadly, Wyatt Farney posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Salida over Pagosa Springs on Friday. Farney rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries, and also picked up 53 receiving yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
On the year, Farney has caught 2 touchdowns while averaging 19.2 receiving yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after five games last season, he was only averaging 10.2 receiving yards per game.

Colton Lucero and Co. Win Third in a Row
Colton Lucero's big game helped extend Pagosa Springs's winning streak to three on Friday. Nobody could stop Lucero as he rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 32 receiving yards. He is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last five games he's played dating back to last season.
For the year, Lucero has averaged 27.4 receiving yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 57.2 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 193.2 rushing yards.

Dyson Woodward Crosses Big Stat Threshold
The second Alamosa player making an appearance here is Dyson Woodward, and for good reason. He rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 90 yards and a touchdown. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (101.4).
If history really does repeat itself, Woodward might just drop another big game when he faces off against Gunnison on Friday. When Woodward last faced the Cowboys back in September of 2023, he rushed for 112 yards on only 12 carries, and also threw for 211 yards and a touchdown.
