The Eastern Randolph Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Uwharrie Charter 46-42. Eastern Randolph was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Uwharrie Charter apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kenly Whitaker, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ziera Watson, who scored six points along with three steals.
Eastern Randolph bumped their record down to 2-13 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Uwharrie Charter, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastern Randolph will take on Trinity at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Trinity comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last 11 games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Uwharrie Charter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Piedmont at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
