The La Junta Tigers took care of business in their home opener on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 45-31 victory over Custer County. For La Junta, this counts as revenge for the 68-32 defeat Custer County walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
La Junta's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Miles Marshall, who scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds. Monze Alvidres was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Custer County's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Agi Thomas, who scored 6 points along with 7 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Christopher Mullett, who scored 8 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals.
La Junta's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Custer County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
