Graham Local is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Urbana is on a four-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Graham Local Falcons will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Urbana Hillclimbers at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Graham Local will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 497th, while Urbana is ranked 157th).
Last Wednesday, Graham Local took a serious blow against North Union, falling 62-26. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Graham Local has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Urbana didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Benjamin Logan on Wednesday, but they still walked away with a 46-40 win.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Urbana to victory, but perhaps none more so than Peyton Mounce, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. The match was Mounce's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Lola Rice was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Graham Local's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Urbana, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.
Graham Local was dealt a bruising 60-27 defeat at the hands of Urbana in their previous meeting back in January. Can Graham Local avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
