The Toronto Red Knights lost against the Beaver Beavers back in January of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Toronto fell 46-33 to the Beavers. Toronto has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Toronto lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ashton Thomas. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 15 points and 21 rebounds. Thomas hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Tatum Derrington, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and two steals.
Toronto's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Beaver, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-14.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Toronto will take on the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Trinity Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Red Knights in their respective states (the Warriors are ranked 48th in West Virginia, while the Red Knights are ranked 672nd in Ohio). As for Beaver, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Clippers at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Columbiana focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Thursday.
