Baseball Recap: Overton Snags 13th Win in Last 15 Games

Overton got themselves on the board against Elysian Fields on Friday, but Elysian Fields never followed suit. They blew past the Yellowjackets 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won 13 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Rylan Holleman made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Holleman was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. What's more, he posted four RBI, the most he's had since back in March.

In other batting news, Bryson Bobbitt was a standout: he got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. He continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Zalman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Overton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .526. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Overton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Elysian Fields, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-15.

As of now, neither Overton nor the Yellowjackets have any future games scheduled.
