This season hasn't been kind to the Salisbury Dragons, who are still winless after their 11th game. They were beaten by Sts. Peter & Paul 49-14 on Thursday. Salisbury has not had much luck with Sts. Peter & Paul recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Salisbury got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Abby Willis and
Allie Collins, who each put up five points.
Libby Donoway held things down on the boards with seven rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with an assist.
Salisbury's defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-11. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.3 points per game. As for Sts. Peter & Paul, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.
Salisbury will be playing in front of their home fans against Delmarva Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Delmarva Christian's defense has only allowed 26.7 points per game this season, so Salisbury's offense will have their work cut out for them. Sts. Peter & Paul won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Calvary Christian Academy at 3:30 p.m. on January 12th. Hopefully Calvary Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Thursday.
