It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Champion Golden Flashes ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past Crestview 55-52. The win was a breath of fresh air for Champion as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Champion to victory, but perhaps none more so than Marky Nolan, who scored 26 points along with two steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Nolan has scored at least a third of Champion's points. Another player making a difference was Jake Andreatta, who scored seven points along with 13 rebounds and five steals.
Champion's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-7. As for Crestview, their loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Champion will take on Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Liberty focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday. As for Crestview, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Garfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Ohio (Garfield is ranked 760th, while Crestview is ranked 759th).
